Method
We will walk outside in nature, in the forest. We walk in Engelenstede, a beautiful natural area where a diverse landscape provides the perfect setting for walk-and-talk coaching. Sessions are possible in both Dutch and English, and each session takes 75 minutes. We start the session with a Mindfulness walk. This helps you land in the moment and step away from the bustle of daily life. It also helps you get in touch with yourself.
The first walk is a (free) introductory meeting, aimed at gaining clarity into your situation and your wishes. At the end of this conversation, we will discuss the possibilities within Dans in de Regen. If we agree that what I have to offer fits with what you need, we will discuss which package is the best fit: a basic package (5 sessions) or an extended package (10 sessions).

A basic package is focused on a specific situation you are in right now. We set to work with the solution-oriented approach. With the extended package, we will dig deeper and work from a systemic approach. Contrary to the basic package, here we will focus on recognising, understanding and breaking patterns.
Within both packages I make use of ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). You can learn more about all of these approaches below. Throughout all sessions our work is body-oriented and experience-oriented, while we keep using nature to anchor new insights.

ACT
The goal of ACT is ‘psychological flexibility’. The basic principle is that, if we could rewire the way we look at our feelings and thoughts, we would lose less energy to fighting ourselves and our circumstances. You will learn to see your thoughts and feelings as information, and we will spend time on discovering what matters to you. That enables you to take steps towards a satisfying life.

Solution-oriented
Within the solution-oriented approach, we will explore what works for you.
The focus is on your qualities and how you could use them. Together we will look at you and your situation from a distance and discover which personal strengths you already (unconsciously) use. We will get a clear picture of your desired situation and look together for small steps you can take to get there.

Systemic
‘System’ refers to the social groups in which we function: family, friends, colleagues. The systemic approach states you can’t separate a person from their social relationships. We will explore the dynamics you keep finding yourself in, perhaps unwittingly, in interaction with others. We will examine these patterns and start looking for other possibilities that fit better with what feels good for you.
